  • Because each person has different needs and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

My style encourages a safe and open space for dialogue and processing. I like to let my sessions flow fluidly, allowing clients to drive while I steer and offer guidance by sharing feedback and highlighting connections and inconsistencies. We will identify positive experiences to expand a well rounded perspective, and talk through current and past challenges, with the goal of moving through it instead allowing it to stick around too long. At times, things may feel they are getting worse before they get better, and this is because we’re addressing significant and uncomfortable topics. However, with perseverance, consistency, and active participation, you can Be Empowered.

  • I am currently accepting Optum/United Health and Northern California Kaiser. I also accept cash payments at a rate of $200 for individuals and $250 for couples/families.

I am able to provide documentation (a superbill) so you can be reimbursed through Out of Network insurance. I encourage anyone interested in this to call their insurance provider before starting therapy to find out their policies around this so you know how much money, if any, you will get back.

  • The healing journey will be different for everyone, so this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals will depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment and engagement, and the factors that are driving you to seek help in the first place.

I am offering 50-minute sessions via a secure Telehealth platform. Longer sessions are available by request for an additional fee. Most clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions.

  • Not at all. People who ask for help when they need it have the courage to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, I’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.

  • The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, counseling is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, and you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.
